Pluris buys Aveiro shipyards from Martifer, completing an acquisition that strengthens our investment and development strategy in Portugal’s shipbuilding and ship maintenance sector.

With this operation, we are integrating Navalria, a company specialised in the construction, repair and maintenance of small and medium-sized vessels, operating at the Port of Aveiro.

Strengthening industrial capacity

With this integration, we now have infrastructure with the capacity to carry out shipbuilding and repair work on vessels up to 100 metres, reinforcing our industrial presence and our ability to respond within the sector.

Investing to grow and serve the market

This step aligns with our vision for the sector: increasing capacity, gaining industrial scale, and responding more effectively to the Group’s needs, while maintaining availability to work with other maritime operators.

As Mário Ferreira, President of Pluris, underlined, “we have an investment project to increase the production capacity of the Aveiro shipyards, both for our Group and for other maritime operators”.

A vision for Portugal’s shipbuilding industry

We believe Portugal has a clear opportunity to strengthen its position in the shipbuilding industry. In that context, we will continue to assess investment opportunities and the development of infrastructure in the country, contributing to the revitalisation and modernisation of a strategic sector.

With this acquisition, we reinforce our commitment to developing Portugal’s shipbuilding industry, investing in installed capacity, value creation, and strengthening the country’s position as a competitive international hub.
